Oh, dear sweet Anthropologie

I guess relativity is one of those things I need to get a little more used to dealing with. Like the Angelina Jolie debate: if you think she's hot, you are accepted; if you don't, you are a leper. Or like cilantro: either you love it or it tastes like soap. Just depends of what you think is attractive or delicious.

Or like some 'Sale' items at Anthropologie. Truly, if I had to live in a retail store, I think it would be Anthropologie. A little mix of Gap, J. Crew, H&M, Marshall's, TJ, Target ... just for spice, but ... yeah, Anthro is where it's at. But an $80 skirt isn't 'on sale' in my relative opinion. To someone who makes hoards of cash, that might be a steal. To me, that's a joke. BUT THEIR STUFF IS SO DARN GORGEOUS ... and cute, and fun and unique. So I have to admire a few choice pieces....

Three Lovely Things from Anthropologie

This weekend I was shopping in Tulsa with a friend and scored an awesome, comfortable pair of pants at Anthropologie for the impossibly reasonable price of $9.99 (prev $118.00!) ... yes, my decimal point is in the right place. ;) I love finding pieces there that aren't budget busters!

Which inspired me to browse their website on my lunch today ... I found 3 lovely things at pretty good prices that I wanted to share.

The Anthropologie Conundrum

I love Anthropologie. They have truly beautiful apparel, accessories, home decor, and tons of inspiration. I have a little twinge of "I wish I had that" whenever someone says they "Got it at Anthropologie" or does a What I Wore post with some amazing and well-styled piece from Anthropologie, like this one.

But I still can't bring myself to buy their merch until and unless it is drastically marked down on their super-clearance, you're-lucky-if-it's-in-your-size sale rack. I just don't understand $338 sandals asnd $228 blouses. I just ... don't get it. If I have $228 extra dollars sitting around (what a day!) I will spend it on getting that squeak on my car fixed, not buying a beautifully overpriced blouse that will look just as old and 'has been' as everything else in my closet after just a few wears.

All that to say, I still greatly admire (and esteem!) their stock and have browsed their webpages many times for inspiration. Here are a few of my favorite looks and pieces from their latest e-mail alert: perfect cool and light pieces for Spring and Summer.

Behold! BHLDN: Website unveiled today ...

...and it's a looker to be sure. Check it out here. This is Anthropologie's take on wedding apparel and accessories and it does not disappoint.

Their gowns and dresses are beautiful - some classic, some unique and vintage-inspired or a new color combination you hadn't thought of. Sooo pretty. And their accessories, shoes and lingerie are truly works of art. If I was getting married this would be my inspiration! Since I'm not, I'm just using it as some really great eye candy.
